Ladybugs Always Smile When They Are With You

Hey Y'all!!!  Teresa here.  Several weeks ago I made a card with this same ladybug, flower & sentiment. I loved them so much I made two sets and here's the second one. Hope it makes you smile like it does me! Ladybugs still remind me of my childhood. The Little Ladybug stamp set from Ink N' Splatter comes with 4 of the cutest little ladybugs and 5 sentiments. Be sure to check it out. All the details for making this card yourself are below (including links).

I began by coloring this cute little ladybug and flower on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White paper using Copic markers.

COPIC MARKERS:
• Ladybug (R29, R24, R22, 100, E04, E11, E21, E00, White Gel Pen)
• Flowers & Leaves (Y17, Y15, Y13, YG97, YG95, YG93)
PAPER & EVERYTHING ELSE
• Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb Paper
• Card Stock - Real Red, Basic Black
• Paper Pack - Ladybug Days
• Stamps - Little Ladybugs
• Dies - Little Ladybugs
• Stencil - Bright Sun Rays
• Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Oxide (Festive Berries, Black Soot, Picked Raspberry)
• Foam Tape, Bearly Art Craft Glue, Glossy White Confetti Mix

I started by making the card base from a piece of Real Red card stock. The card base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/2" on the long side. Just a helpful tip - Make sure you used your bone folder to crease the score line well so the card stock doesn't tear.

I used the Bright Sun Rays stencil with the distress oxide inks to make a beautiful sun. Just a little bit of black overlaying the red of the sun gives it a little dimension. It's cut to 3" x 4 1/4" and is wet glued onto the card as the top layer.

For the bottom layer I cut a piece of Ladybug Days to 5" x 3 3/4" and glued it to the card base with Bearly glue. Notice that I also used my scoring board to make a small 'border' around the edge of the red card stock. Looks like it's framing the paper. I layered another piece of black card stock cut to 4 3/4" x 3 1/2". It also has a framing border created with the scoring board 1/8" from the edge of all sides of the paper.

The fabulous little ladybug and sentiment are both popped up with foam tape. The yellow flower is glued down to the top of one of the layers flat with Bearly glue.

She is so cute!!! Do ladybugs have different colors than red & white? I wonder.
